There is always something happening and yet it retains its small-town feel.

Downtown Sonora stays busy with events such as 2nd  Saturday Art Night, and the Sonora Farmers Market. 

Black Oak Casino Resort is conveniently located for gambling, entertainment, and more.

A short drive up the hill will bring you to Pinecrest Lake. In the winter visit Dodge Ridge for local skiing or Leland Meadows for snow play. 

There is plenty to do in the summer as well with lots of rivers and lakes. Some of the biggest boating lakes nearby are New Melones Lake, Lake Tulloch, and Lake Don Pedro. The county is scattered with hiking trails, fishing spots, and camping. Near the top of Sonora Pass in Kenndey Meadows Resort and Pack Station.
